SML has introduced a new co-rotating twin-screw extruder (TSE), further expanding its product portfolio to provide customers with more comprehensive extrusion solutions.
Launched to address the growing market
demand for high output of polyolefins and polyesters, this new TSE offers the
following advantages:
Energy Efficiency and Quality
Enhancement: Compared to large single-screw
extruders with equivalent output, the TSE features a shorter processing unit, a
smaller footprint, and lower heating power. Its restricted-feed and high-torque
design reduces specific energy input (SEI) by 10–15%, while the number of gels in standard
CPP films can be reduced by up to 20%.
Compatibility with High-Performance
Lines: With an output capacity of 1,000 to
2,000 kg/h, the TSE perfectly matches high-performance cast film lines with
widths of up to 6.5 meters.
Smart Design and Low Maintenance Costs: The rotating barrel design allows for quick screw changes from
the rear. Temperature control, combining ceramic heaters with air cooling, is
both precise and economical. The equipment offers various integrated barrel and
pre-configured options, with the choice of either one-piece or segmented
screws.
Support for Drying-Free Processing and
In-Line Compounding: Equipped with a
high-performance vacuum system, the TSE can directly process PET or PLA without
pre-drying. It also handles high volumes of recycled materials or flake
feedstock, enabling in-line compounding.
